Grocery Produce Supervisor

Qualifications

  1. At least 5 years experience in a retail environment with high amount of foot traffic and dealings with househouse and wholesale demands.

  2. Willing to work on weekdays and holidays wherein expected customer traffic is high. Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving customer concerns and problems in timely manner.

  3. Highly knowledgeable in the technical aspect of produce skus, it's seasonality, characteristic, freshness and appearance.

  4. Must be knowledgeable in terms of stocking, pricing, rotation and anticipating customers needs

  5. Assist in ordering, receiving, display and sale of all products in accordance to Landmark's merchandising standards.

  6. Collaborate with Purchasing Department to develop pricing plan and marketing plan.

  7. Assist in developing marketing events and other promotional activities to maximize sales and profits.

  8. Must have people skills to motivate produce staff, training and work schedule. Work with Store Manager on hiring, evaluation and overall supervision of department personnel.

  9. Manage department inventory control to maintain proper stock level so that there is no out of stock and over-stock products.

  10. Ensure that work environment is clean and safe.

  11. Dispose all outdated and spoiled produce, which is no longer suitable for sale.

Job Responsibilities


  • Supervise and train a team of produce associates, providing guidance, coaching, and support.

  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring proper stock rotation and freshness of products.

  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of produce.

  • Implement and enforce quality control standards to ensure the freshness and appearance of products.

  • Create visually appealing displays and arrange produce in an attractive and organized manner.

  • Provide excellent customer service, assisting customers with inquiries, product selection, and recommendations.

  • Monitor and track sales performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to increase sales.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of produce.

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the produce department, including equipment and work areas.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and new products, sharing knowledge with the team and customers.
